What is Henro Stars?
"Henro Stars" is the world's first digital platform that connects all 108 temples of the Shikoku 88 Temple Pilgrimage and the 20 Special Sacred Sites of Shikoku, as well as information on restaurants, accommodations, and tourist spots scattered around them, and "Henro Stars" that support a free and easy way to enjoy the pilgrimage, all through word of mouth.
We will create a database of firsthand accounts (word-of-mouth) from pilgrims, supporting the continuation of the pilgrimage culture with its 1,200-year history and the sustainable revitalization of local communities.
Furthermore, this website supports nine major languages worldwide. It removes language barriers for the rapidly increasing number of overseas visitors, directly conveying the charm of the Shikoku Pilgrimage and the surrounding region.
Through this activity, we hope that the wonderful tradition and culture of the Shikoku Pilgrimage will be registered as a World Heritage Site, and that lasting peace will prevail throughout the world.
